Jubilee Opening :
This was the great celebration which took place on November 7th, 2015, with the opening of the door of the basilica of Santa Sabina by the Master of the Order Bruno Cadoré. There was an impressive procession towards the altar, in which all the branches of the order were represented. This procession represented the three signs of this Jubilee : light, the Gospel and sending forth. The ceremony ended with a symbol of the sending, the transmission of light to all the assembly.
The European Council, as well as the International Council and the International Dominican Youth Movement, were represented.
The next day, on Sunday, November 8th, we were all at St Peter’s Square for the Angelus during which the Pope said:
“I greet the representatives of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans) who, yesterday, commenced the eighth centenary of their foundation, that the Lord may bless them abundantly on this occasion. And many thanks for all you do in and for the Church”

MALTA:
On November 7th the 800-year Jubilee of the Dominican Order began.
This was celebrated not only in Santa Sabina in Rome, but also in many places around the world. A report from Malta. The official celebrations began in Rabat. First there was the reciting of the rosary by the Dominican nuns. Then there was a procession from the convent to the Dominican church, dedicated to Our Lady. The procession was led by the Archbishop emeritus Mons. Paul Cremona O.P., the Provincial of the Dominican fraternities Fr. Frans Micallef and various other priors, sub-priors and other friars and lay Dominicans, including the assistant of Vittoriosa Fr. Frank Borg and Fr. Claudio Borg.
The church was full of people as a lot of lay Dominican fraternities attended. Before the mass started, a message from the Master of the Order, Fr. Bruno Cadoré, was read and shown on the big screen set up in the church. The singing during the mass was done by two choirs: the Kerigma choir of Rabat, and the Dominican choir of the Annunciate of Vittoriosa. The Dominican choir sang the Jubilee hymn, the Pater Noster and the Te Deum in Latin, besides other hymns during the mass. The other choir, with guitars, sang other popular church hymns. The whole celebration took almost two hours, and it was followed by a grand reception for all those who took part in this memorable and historic occasion.

The Chain “Preachers of Hope”
Each Province/Vicariate is invited to share their stories and/or pictures with a nearby Province/Vicariate, if possible through a meeting. That Province/Vicariate invites the next Province/Vicariate, etc. For the Chain there is a route with a timetable, which can be used.
If every Province/Vicariate sends their stories and pictures also to the ECLDF website, we will create, in this way, a real chain of preachers of hope throughout Europe until the next Assembly in October 2017 in Fatima.
All about the chain you can read on this website.
First steps of this chain :
o Norway
o Vienna (Austria)
